Sallying forth from the southern suburbs of London, Noah & the Whale quickly developed a strong reputation for eloquent songcraft and unique style with the release of 2008's Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, featuring the hit "5 Years Time". Singer and guitarist Charlie Fink's laconic baritone recalls a young Lou Reed, while the harmonies and accompaniment of Tom Hobden (violin/keys), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass), and Fred Abbott (guitar/ keys) lend a triumphant quality to their tales of life and love. This is a group wise beyond their years, as evidenced by this set recorded during a recent visit to Wolfgang's Vault.
