Trouser Press Magazine began in New York in 1974, originally focused on British bands and artists. As the magazine grew, so did its coverage. By the late 1970s and 80s, the magazine covered a wide variety of music, including punk, new wave, and alternative rock. Although it seemed to be thriving, its editors decided to pull the plug on the magazine after the April 1984 issue.
