This is one nice set. And this comes to mind: in the concert synopsis this author really puts it accurately and timely. Since this 1991 concert the Bridge school benefits are a annual pilgrimage for many, but I never have made it, for it just seems all to much. My dear friend Mary from Cambell was a big fan, and I just know one thing: a guy can spend hours listening, reminiching and generally paying for it the next day. So: I promise myself that this will be the last song, set and just send big compliments to the author of the wonderful concert synopsis- how about a line credit? Bye

I had to go back and listen to "Birds" again. What a great concert! Everybody underplays, and Nicolette's harmonys are...so comfortable. Neil and these musicians just flow. Thanks WGV peeps!

I have to make a correction to the comment I made regarding the memorial concert, I misunderstood the wording where it said that the concert was held the following afternoon. I had the impression the summary was saying the concert was held the following afternoon after Bill Grahams death. That was not the case...That's just me being ...DUH! Lol.

Neil Young is among a very few songwriters whose music contains NO BS!! Songwriters like this may make you think about what they're saying, BUT again, contains NO BS of any sort, especially any of the PROTEST songs!!

I used to do concert security for Bill Graham from 1987-1993. There is a slight correction to be made in the summery, Yes, Bill Graham was killed in a hellicopter crash which occured October 25, 1991. The memomorial concert was six days after his death, and NOT the next afternoon, in which David Graham (Bill's son) put the concert together. I asked David some time after the memorial concert as to how much of a pain in the neck it may have been trying to get this thing together and David said..."It wasn't really that hard, once the word got out that I was planning this memorial for my dad, the bands were calling me wanting to play!" Almost 500,000 people were in attendance for this free all day concert at the polo field in San francisco's Golden gate park. I was also at this Bridge school benifit concert while working and it was a privalige to work at these GREAT concerts. I work all Bridge school concerts till 1993, two years after Bill Graham was killed. Neil Young always had a GREAT line up of huge names that were all too glad to perform.
