About

Mountain

The hard rock outlet Mountain emerged from the 1960s rock explosion. Formed in '69 by Leslie West and former Cream producer Felix Pappalardi, they established themselves in a short time as a premiere rock band. West and Pappalardi were joined by Corky Laing and Steve Knight to complete Mountain. Debuting at the Fillmore in '69, Mountain had a string of rock classics including "Mississippi Queen" and "Dreams of Milk and Honey." Although they broke up in '72, Mountain stayed on top in their heyday and gained a spot in the famous Woodstock lineup.
