Concert Summary

This recording kicks off with Mott the Hoople breaking into "The Golden Age of Rock & Roll," the opening track from the band's The Hoople LP, which was the British band's new studio album at the time. By the time this show was recorded on Broadway, at New York's Uris Theater, the future of Mott the Hoople had already been cast. Hunter, the band's lead vocalist and chief songwriter, had already made the decision to depart, though he would stay in the band for another year.     I have to call BS on this:
    Among the tracks featured here are "One Of The Boys" (which would re-appear after Mick Ralphs left Mott the Hoople as "Can't Get Enough" by Bad Company)

    Although the guitar tag was quite similar, the rest of the song was different. I learned to play guitar in this era. After all, it's only R&R, there are only so many progressions.

    For goodness sakes, John Fogerty got sued for sounding like himself.

    Bring Bender back and tour America. Ralphs' playing and stage presence in the reunion shows is desultory.
