Concert Summary

A foul wind was blowing down the Sunset Strip at the dawn of the '80s, withering the last remaining petals of Flower Power and ushering in a new era of decadence and debauchery unencumbered by social responsibilities. The source of this wind was not the sleepy Pacific coastline a few miles away, but a dingy apartment around the corner from the Whiskey a Go Go, where the members of Motley Crue were inventing what would fast become the dominant musical genre of the next decade.

Hair metal, hesher rock, glam metal - by whatever…entire summary

this was the first concert i ever went to.i recorded it and still have to this day however the quality is pretty shitty.the version on this site is much better but is missing the intro and piece of your action (which was played just before live wire) is also missing.

This is one of the best Crue bootlegs I've ever heard. I've seen them live 9 times since 1987 and this recording is great because you can hear Nikki really well and Vince's voice is really strong and you can hear Tommy's double bass foot action really well! The best thing is that they are playing really tight together...The Orpheum is one of my favorite indoor venues because it's so intimate and the acoustics are amazing!!! True old school Crue fans will love this fuckin shit you motherfuckers!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had this on cassette for years, it'll be nice to hear this upgrade. This was a great era for Motley Crue

I don't think the vocals are touched up. Before '85 Vince could sing/scream very well. After that forget it. I saw them several times in the eighties after this tour and when he wasn't off key he sounded like he was having an asthma attack. Great fun anyway.

Wow, is it ever annoying that he repeats the exact same claim of benig heartbroken because of not being able to “eat all of that [insert city name] pussy tonight” in Boston as he did in San Antonio. If I were a San Antonio woman, who had been just so bursting with pride that Vince wanted to eat my pussy, think how your feelings would be hurt when you found out he did not have any more appetite for your pussy than for that of your friend from Boston or even Fargo, for North Dakota’s sake.

Wow, these guys were incredibly tight at this show! Either that or it's been cleaned up in a studio somewhere. I've seen them twice -- Theater of Pain and Girls, Girls, Girls, tours at the Omni in Atlanta. Vince certainly wasn't holding it together the way he did here.
