I saw Fred at Boston University in 1969 (?). He would should out "I don't play no rock and roll" and then hit a searing note on his electic that would sear your ears. GREAT stuff.

I was 16 when I first heard Fred on a "race radio" station broadcasting from Ft.Wayne <In. His was the most active bottleneck style of a group of fine Delta players. This performance is a very fine representation of his mastery of his music.

I saw Mississippi Fred McDowell in a small coffee house venue in the Germantown section of Philly in the late 60's or early 70's. What an extremely cool experience that was.

Saw Fred McDowell in Memphis, in the early 70's.
Small stage, electric guitar, small amp.
He still ranks in my memory as the best live performer that I ever heard.

Have a DVD from Paramount with Bonny doing this Few Of Your Lines tune with her sweet backup singer Debra on snare. Very very good. Been in love with Bonny since mid 70s. She was one of the original "all nighters" and she can rock as hard as anyone but she always tells you about the blues
