Concert Summary

Following their appearance with Nirvana on MTV's Unplugged, Cris and Curt Kirkwood, the fabulous freak brothers who are the Meat Puppet's nucleus, found themselves with a whole new audience for their wild brand of puppet theater in the '90s. Today, their surprising combination of slammin' psychedelia and twangin' hillbilly punk rock sounds amazingly timeless; of course it's also in perfect synch with the tripped-out history of San Francisco's Fillmore where they seem to have soaked up some of the vibe and channeled it into nothing less than a definitive set for themselves.

    I'm so happy!!!
I searched so long for a live version of Things, I think its the song I listened most times at all...
and now I found it, so I just signed and enjoy...
Unbeleaveble, how much power theiy've got on the stage. and the songs sound quite different from the CD, which is realy no criticism... great band!!!

Have had the pleasure of seeing these guys at several stages from about '88 onwards and they are always great in concert. Full of uninhibited energy and contagious enthusiasm. One of THE most influential and under-appreciated bands ever.

Track 29 is "Maiden's Milk," from "Up on the Sun." This is a great concert. How do they keep track of all those songs?!#@$?

I love their sound. The edgy guitar riffs stand out for me. Good weed music.

i heard about this act years ago and just got around to hearing the sounds. it's proabably something i'll get right into, because it's wierd and kind of hard to listen to at the beginning. i have to learn it, y'know? it's not easile digested like pop shit.

i hate the fact that the CD this is from is out of print. one of their best IMHO.

Nice. I drove down to the Fillmore from Chico to be at this show and it was well worth the 3 hours each way to catch these guys.
