Even after all these years I find this group one of the most thrilling musical experiences I have ever heard. The phrase "music of the god's " was often used back in those days. Well, perhaps a bit over the top but McLaughlin and the boys were pretty awesome in the flesh. The Vault has/is doing a great service for all of us who were switched onto fusion back in the late sixties/early seventies. Thank you for bringing back another great memory.

I was in a horn band when Mahavishnu were on Don Kirshner. We were in a music store when they came on a T.V. that was there. Most of the band were snobs. I stood and grinned as activity in the store stopped and all the musicians there gathered to watch. Jaws dropped open and egos were destroyed that day.

Greatest fusion band of all time, period.
