Concert Summary

Little River Band has had an unusually successful career, even though they have not remained a household name. This show, one of several recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, came only three years after the band formed, but features several of their biggest hits. Opening with "It's A Long Way There," the group shows off its harmonic vocal prowess on nearly everything here, especially the hits: "Happy Anniversary," "Take Me Home," and "Help Is On Its Way."

Lead vocalist Glenn Shorrock, who has been in and out of the group several times, is one of the best vocalists to come out of…entire summary

Saw the current lineup of LRB last night in Va. Beach, VA. Wayne Nelson was the only recognizable member that I saw. He handled all of the vocals, even though he's only been credited with lead singing on Night Owls. They did well before the large audience outdoors last night.

Saw LRB perform @ the Greek Theater in LA during Foreigner's first US tour; And they were hands-down better than the band from the UK... Great LIVE band!!!

Great stuff! Would love to hear more concerts from these guys. Especially a few years down the line from this one. With "Lady", "Lonesome Loser" etc. Great to hear "Help is on it's way" live.

This is an astonishing band. Un-freakingbelievable live, maybe THE BEST live show I ever saw (and I've seen everyone). Unfortunately, only got to see them once, at Concord. Beyond their amazing vocals and songwriting, they featured a sophisticated light show that defined the genre for years to come. Truly amazing band. What a shame that some a-hole who joined the band late now owns the rights to their name and refuses to let the original band re-unite. If ever I meet this guy in a bar, I may smash a beer glass over his head (in true Aussie style).

Reminiscing, the song, like most MUSIC, is timeless. there are no more bands like this, America, Ambrosia, Poussette Dart Band, where music is the key not the celebrity status of some silly tart who thinks she can sing.

Thank you very much. I love them in all the different line-ups(except current- only one main player,Wayne Nelson who joined in '80). Saw a nice show in '79 (Jay Ferguson opened) and very cool where they ended show with "It's Not A Wonder" and came back and played it again as one of their encores. Great players and superior vocals. Another band where they rocked, but better known for softer single "hits". They have tons of "album tracks" that rock. Thanks to the Vault for putting this show up. Any and all LRB shows are welcome.
