Concert Summary

You wanted the best? You got the best!! Only, this time, they're not gonna be wearing any cool make-up. And remember Ace Frehley, their awesome guitar player? Yeah, he's been replaced by the soulless, mechanical wankery of Vinnie Vincent. Plus, Paul Stanley's stage banter is only slightly less embarrassing than wetting your pants on the first day of school - other than all that, THE BEST!!

After the inexplicable creative choices behind their…entire summary

They had alot of energy here and Im a an old fan,but ,I think they were never given props for their 80s music.I thought it was great if not better at times than 70s stuff. But this a great show! I heard it on radio back in High School.

Oh man. I was at this show! Saw them at Municipal Auditorium with Creatures of the Night tour. And then saw them again in same building on this Lick It Up tour. Great to find live recording of it.

Went to see Kiss at the behest of my brother, who said- Ya don't like the show, the ticket is free. Cheap Trick opened and I left as a member of the "KISS ARMY"........

Did the makeup really matter? Later this same month, Kiss played to a nearly half-empty Long Beach Arena, where any accusations they had been reduced to a cover band of themselves were easily silenced in a classic Kiss spasm of melodic heaviness. But I recall the unexpecteted lulls, possibly a response to the disappointing gate or the lengthy tour taking its tool, when the band truly seemed to be going in autodrive. Warm-up performers Rhett Forester of Riot and a still-hungry Adrian Vandenberg delivered more consistently rocking sets that evening.

Sorry to inform youb peop[le but the makeup did not play the music, Gene, Paul, Ace, Peter, Eric,Mark, Vinnie, Bruce, Eric2 and tommy did. They all kick butt! Even without makeup Kiss put on one of the best stage shows ever. Yeah it'd be great if Ace and Peter were into it but they just don't care anymore. When i saw them in '99 and 2000 they just weren't as good as in the 80's. Eric Carr was a far better drummer than Peter and Tommy thayer just as good as Ace. He can play Ace's songs better than ace can now. Watch the Kissology videos. Ace was amazing back in the day. One awesome classic band.

In response to all the current & non makeup KISS Haters..........I would rather see Eric & Tommy in makeup, playing the songs right, playing songs that never been played live before, & being there cause THEY WANT TO BE THERE, than seeing Ace & Peter going through the motions playing the same damn songs every night cause those are the only songs they are capable of playing, or are too damn lazy to re learn songs THAT THEY HAD A HAND IN WRITING!!!!! It's called being a REAL FAN people!!!!! Sticking by your favorite band thruogh THICK & THIN!!!!!!!!
