Concert Summary

This concert was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1979, the second of two shows recorded at LA's Roxy on Sunset Blvd. At this time, Collins was trying to reestablish her folk icon image, after having a huge hit with Stephen Sondheim's "Send In The Clowns" in 1976. Joni will never be matched. Forgive me for saying so but, it was just about one minute past midnight in 1979. The days of glory in the music industry were gone, the true artists suffered.

Judy ...oh boy, she needed to warm up. 1st few songs she was flat. BUT she completely redeemed herself . Who Knows Where The Time Goes is magical. She could have easily been a famous Paris club singer in the 20's. That said, It is Joni Mitchell, not Judy C. that is a Mozart of our times. A true musical genus w/ an incredible melodic voice & lyrics.
