Concert Summary

The modern metal music genre certainly owes a great deal to this classic early '80s lineup of Judas Priest. The group had been together for eight years and released seven albums prior…entire summary

I remember I was playing D&D with some friends when this came on the radio. I used to have it on cassette but over the years the cassette vanished. So glad I found it online!

Caught them countless times over the past 30 years. My first show was back in 1979 with Whitesnake and some bard called Iron Maiden opening.

Rob is the Metal God! His voice will echo forever.

The first time I saw Judas Priest was during their first American engagement at the Oakland Stadium in July of 1977, opening for the Mighty Led Zeppelin. Also on the bill that day was Rick Derringer, who played after Priest. Priest "Kick-Started" the show that day opening with a kick-ass version of "Exciter". It was powerful & intense & filled the entire stadium with Crystal Clear, PURE RAW ENERGY!!

Thank you for pointing out this inaccuracy, Ian. I apologize for the slip-up. I've pointed it out to the summary's author and made the correction. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know about it! Cheers, Angie from Concert Vault

nice wrong summary again, they had released 7 studio albums up to this point and unleashed wasn't a dbl live album,1 album and a 3 track 7" with early copies. the really had hit their metal best around this time though and were a gruop that was on fire, one of the few must see bands at the time
