Long live Bill Graham. I met him at a Pat Benetar show at the Old Waldorf in 1981. He was kind and gentle as well as informative. I asked him when the Stones were coming to town and he didn't even hesitate in telling me "late summer". As we all know he was correct. Great guy!!!! I've lived on the east coast for the past 25 years but I always remember those days in the bay area seeing the best bands in the world.

Some of you seem to expect an exact vocal clone of the CD. That is not a realistic expectation. Even when a band puts out a live CD they often cull together the best takes from a variety of concerts or if recorded from one concert some fixing of mistakes occurs. Yes Steve Perry is one of the best vocalist ever to grace the planet, but he is still a human being. Arnel is a very good vocalist as well and so was Steve Augeri before is throat gave out, but Perry reins supreme. Keep in mind this was a thrown together free concert to honor Bill Graham. Also Steve is closer to 40 here not early thirties as someone commented. Journey Rocks!

Arnel Pineda is a fantastic voice and to those who cannot acknoqledge this is a reflection of your small-mindedness and bigotry. A voice is a voice regardless of its shell. His range is superb and with Revelations, Journey have created a work of art that rivals anything they have ever done.
Loyalty is fine...but for your sake, if you cannot appreciate the music and are instead driven by ulterior motives, all I have to say is that it's your loss. I for one gain immense pleasure in listening to their new material.
Journey are among the best bands anywhere and I thank the members for their courage and intelligence. Taking nothing away from Mr. Perry...acknowledged as one of the great voices in rock. It also does not by any means diminish the superlative talent of Mr. Pineda. Thank you Journey....go forth bravely and do what you do best...making incredible music!!!
