Photography Q & A

Description

Jack Healey of Amnesty International sought out Bill Graham to produce a tour that would focus attention on the organization's worldwide efforts. The human rights group seeks to aid the plight of "prisoners of conscience," people imprisoned worldwide solely for their beliefs. Healey realized that with the help and advocacy of musicians such as U2, Peter Gabriel, Sting and others, Amnesty's message would have a far better chance of being heard and understood. Six concerts were performed across the country with the final event broadcast on MTV. One month after the tour, membership in Amnesty International in the United States had increased by 45,000 members.

Bill Graham knew that the rock concerts BGP staged were unique events and by the early 1970s regularly assigned staff photographers to range the venues and capture the scenes on film. We are now pleased to present them to you as our Concert Photos collection. Incredible, slice-of-life portraits of the performers and crowds that freeze-frame an era, our Concert Photos are archival quality and are available in 11x14 and 16x20 prints.

Wolfgang's Vault also licenses the use of our Concert Photos to television, film and other agencies for advertising and other purposes. Please contact us for more information.
