About

John Mayall

John Mayall is the British blues artist, theorist and purist whose band the Bluesbreakers was both his mouthpiece and the practice field for aspiring bluesmen and blues pilgrims. From the '60s through the early '70s, his band was temporary home to Eric Clapton, Mic Fleetwood, John McVie, Aynsley Dunbar, Mick Taylor and Peter Green, among others, all of whom stepped out to new ventures of their own after OTJ training. More than just a talent scout, Mayall's prodigious album output is a collection of the Bluesbreakers with varying line-ups, solo and modern efforts that reflect his own, not inconsiderable multi-instrument talent, and he remains a respected authority and dazzler of the genre in the 21st century.
