Concert Summary

This performance is close to the majority of concerts Joan Baez has given over the years. Performing with only an acoustic guitar and piano, Baez excels during this show with her strong and clear voice. While she is also a gifted guitarist and songwriter, it's her high soprano that has been the driving force of her nearly five-decade-long career.

BAEZ is in Amazing VOICE here. The list of songs and their length is incredible, what other singer would have the nerve or talent to attempt it? And to "anonymous" as much as I love Judy Collins, she never made any transisitons that Baez didn't match or surpass. I wish you could pull Judy out of that SHRILL Broadway phase she's been stuck in.

Diamonds and Rust,IMHO,is a classic, gut-renching emotional tale that anyone who has ever lost at love can reach out and find comfort in the fact that someone else had a similar experience in their life and had the talent to write a song about it. Well done Joan! Submitted by Mike Angelucci, Norristown Pa.

Great acoustic concert and great Baez. Curious about who writes the summaries for these concerts. Baez hardly 'overshadowed' Judy Collins. Once the 'protest music' period (early 50's to mid 60's) was eclipsed by/transitioned into multiple other music paths, developing styles and types of music it was Judy Collins, already famous for her music not just her politics, who made the transition while Baez did not.
