Jimmy Cliff

Jamaican Jimmy Cliff was a reggae music pioneer whose talents were overshadowed by the fame of Bob Marley. Cliff's early albums in the late 1960s included Hard Road to Travel and Wonderful World, were well received by critics including Bob Dylan. By the early '70s, Cliff edged toward mainstream popularity, a goal that would ultimately be thwarted by the public's growing attention to Marley. Confidence born of his musical career lead Cliff to try his hand at acting however, and he starred in the cult classic film, The Harder They Come. Cliff's vocal and songwriting talents put him in a rarified category of reggae greats.
