Concert Summary

For nearly four decades singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett has been a mainstay on the American musical landscape. Although he's only had a handful of radio hits, Buffett has turned a musical career that had been under the radar in the beginning, into a multi-million dollar entertainment franchise. Although his recording career has had ups and downs (with Buffett often jumping back and forth between being a pop-folk balladeer and country artist), he has maintained one of the largest and most solid active fan bases outside of…entire summary

An artist at his purest best. No BS, only musicianship, showmanship and personality.

A little music to start the festivities - everyone loves Jimmy Buffett.

Finally...I can play something to my friends so they will understand when I use the phrase "God's own drunk, and a fearless man... I remember Jimmy back in the old days, when they had to lock the doors on annamarie island at the Stumble Inn..to keep people from getting in, or falling out...That's when I first saw the bear....

At a Buffet concert at the time of "Son Of A Son Of A Sailor", I was sitting in the front row, & after suffering through Margaritaville, & dreck like Cheeseburger In Paradise, I called out to him & said "Hey, Jimmy, play 'Music For Money'", which is all about not being commercial or commercialized. He replied "I don't play that anymore", which was totally obvious. Buffet sold the Keys lifestyle, then bailed when he realized he'd helped create a monster. I still love his mid 70's stuff like "A1A", "White Sport Coat, etc", "Havana Daydreaming", & "Living & Dying in 3/4 Time", but the only thing he's done since 1977 that came close to his early genius was 1984's "Riddles In The Sand".

My wife's cousin took me to a buffett show and I forgot my wallet,so they had to fund my drinking.I have been looking for some way to pay him back, I think I'll buy this and send it to him. This is classic Jimmy, my dream concert.

This is truly the "Holly Grail" for any serious Jimmy Buffett Fan. I've been to over 125 Concerts. I went to every show of the "Beach House On the Moon" Tour from '99 - '00, and published the only to take an Insiders Look at the Parrothead Phenomenon: "JimmyDotCom: The Evolution of a Phan." After over thirty-four years of listening to Jimmy and thirteen years of writing about Buffett, this is the coolest thing I've ever run across. If you're a True Buffett Fan, and haven't listened to this at least 200 times, you really can't call yourself a Fan. Maybe you're too busy getting drunk in a Parking Lot to appreciate something like this. I once had a private concert from Jimmy and the Coral Reefers, and I wouldn't trade this recording from the past for that experience! Thank You Wolfgang and the Record Plant for the Gift. Tjarley: How can you say it's boring my God man give your head a shake Jimmy's story about the party on seven mile bridge out of key West was well worth the price of admition. I love the un-refined everything not perfect atmosphere. When compared to today's over-dubbed plastic bullshit I'll take boring anyday.

Great Vintage Buffett ! It was during this time, '73 - '74, that I first discovered JB at The Great Southeastern Music Hall, Atlanta, where he would come through about every 2 months. I never missed a show, and would drink beer with him between shows out in the hallway.

Buffett in the 70s was best. No true parrothead would make a statement like Tjarley. Rediculous.
