Concert Summary

This run of Jimi Hendrix concerts at Winterland, with Dino Valenti and then Buddy Miles Express opening, produced some of the most interesting Hendrix sets ever recorded. In mid 1968, just as he was releasing his monumental Electric Ladyland LP, Hendrix began actively and fervently pursuing opportunities to jam with other musicians. He became more conscious of his improvisational abilities than at any other time…entire summary

I remember going to one of this runs shows and remember how crowded Winterland was, people fainting and being carried out during the solo Dino Valenti set.Had been to mant Winterland shows too. including Cream,Derek and the Dominoes and even The Four Tops/Temptations with only about 200 people there. What would music be without Bill Graham.......and Jimi. This is a cool recording, good quality and thanks........now,any chance you have the !st run right after the Monterey Festival,June 20-25 67..........please.

Jimi is great here as always (in spite of real equipment hassles) and I have listened to plenty of "unofficial recordings. Pay special attention to "Red House." He plays some stuff here that I have never heard him play before, again attesting to the depth of his genius. Forty years after he left us, every recording has at least one moment where we guitarists ask: "How the f*** did he do that?"

Once again the #1 guitarist of all time in Rolling Stone and deservedly so.Im confident we will never see a talent like this again in our lifetime. Often replicated, never duplicated. The master , James Marshall Hendrix.

This is really nice WV but of course everything is officially released now. Would you please put up the 4 Band of Gypsys concerts before they are officially released very soon. Thank you.
