Concert Summary

This run of Jimi Hendrix concerts at Winterland, with Dino Valenti and then Buddy Miles Express opening, produced some of the most interesting Hendrix sets ever recorded. In mid-1968, as Hendrix had just released his monumental Electric Ladyland album, he began actively pursuing opportunities to jam with other musicians. He became more open to his improvisational abilities than at any other time in his too brief…entire summary

Hate to admit it but the last post is dead on. I worked at the Wishey a go go in 67-69. Jimi came to see CTA who was the house for a week and Jimi visited their show. Actually they played there frequently. So did the doors. He was so blown away by Terry Kath He took Chicago on tour with him. Check the facts. You just do not think of Chicago that way because they died when Terry died. The guy sang like Ray Charles and handled the guitar like Jimi. Check out video on this guy he literally takes off!

Jimi was good but he (himsel)f as blown away by Terry Kath of Chicago. Terry is the shit, the real deal. Hendrix was quoted as saying "I'm good but this cat blows me away.
Listen and learn. The solo on 25 or 6 to 4 is under attainable, makes Page,Beck, Clapton sound like amateurs. Love Jimi,

avid, are you brain dead? Or did you post what you did just piss off those people who love Jimi Hendrix, both his music and his guitar playing? Jeff was more polished? He had a better sound? What kind of crap are you peddling in this forum? You can't even compare Jeff Beck with Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix is in another category of electric guitar playing that Jeff Beck doesn't even belong to! So enough with "Beck has a better sound" which means absolutely NOTHING when one is discussing the music and guitar playing of Jimi Hendrix!

Robert Johnson born 100 years ago and was one true of the fathers of blues, as we know it. Jimi was THE one to carry Johnson's legacy on.

i'll take Jeff Beck over Jimi any day. Jeff was much more polished when he played live. He simply had a better sound and played in a way that just was more appealing to my ears than, jimi did.
