Concert Summary

At this point in Hendrix's career, his great love was the studio and he spent much of his time at his own studio, Electric Lady, developing new material and experimenting with numerous musicians. The process of creating and recording new music held his passion, while churning out requests before roaring crowds was losing his interest.

Without question, Hendrix had a lot on his mind at the time. His first real post-Experience group had fallen apart after playing only five gigs and he was morphing the two groups into one by bringing back …entire summary

Jimi always suffered from lack of recording gear (and people) that could have met his needs. However, who could would have, back then...

Anyway, this is GOOD stuff - the HIFI is for some other people...

Notice the similarity between "Voodoo Child" and "Even Flow" by Pearl jam.

many people have tried to compare the innovative guitar playing of hendrix to other sub par players i,ve seen them all in concert frank marino robin trower alan holsworth but there was,nt and still isnt a guitarist that can hold a torch to jimi renaissance chicago,s first black hippie !!!

First of all-@ Anonymous- Six pentatonic scale positions? Do you mean the sixth as being an octave above the first? There's only 5 scales. And though I really like Terry Kath, he couldn't possibly be the only player to do that.....C.T.A. did open a show for Hendrix in '69, at the L.A. Forum.
2nd, I love listening to this show....there's a few tempo issues throughout, but Hendrix & co. in a groove make everyone else boring to listen to. The tempo issues can be chalked up to poor monitors or nerves, the talent outshines everything.

@ Anonymous: As just about every Hendrix fan knows, he never made that statement about Terry Keith. Going back through his old interviews, he wasn't particularly shy to admit that he was (at the very least) good. ;)

LORD I HEAR MY TRAIN COMING !!!

Jimi Hendrix said Terry Kath was a better player than he could hope to be. Jimi might have said this to be polite, but I do not believe Jimi makes reference to any otherplayer in this way.

Jimi took Chicago Transit Authority on tour with him. Check out Jimi tour schedule, it is a fact.
I know its hard to believe,Chicago has been dead since Terry Kath died> But people who play guitar know Terry> The only player to use all six pentatonic scale postions on a single solo on 25 or 6 to 4

    Listen and Learn
Jimi Strat and Terry Telecaster are in heaven because they played the hell out of it!!
