Concert Summary

Nearly twenty years after Jethro Tull's inception, only Ian Anderson remained from the original lineup of bassist Glen Cornick, guitarist Mick Abrahams, and drummer Clive Bunker. This recording, done for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, was captured long after the band stopped manufacturing their original FM radio hits, and Ian Anderson himself appears on stage as a living caricature of…entire summary

Became a fan from watching a ABC Wide World of Sports segment with Living in the Past playing in the background. I was smitten. Collected and wore out the LPs, 1st show was Portland, OR with Robin Trower opening. 25,000 Tull "freaks" enjoying nearly 4 1/2 hours of stunning music and musicians.

FIRST SAW THE BAND IN 1972 IN THE FESTHALL IN FRANKFORT, GERMANY, AND HAVE NEVER MISSED THE OPPORTUNITY SINCE. TIMES CHANGE AND SO HAS THE MUSIC, BUT SIRS MARTIN AND IAN CAN STILL CRANK IT OUT. TRULY JETHRO TULL IS ONE OF THOSE BANDS WHICH WILL REMAIN FOREVER GREAT!

My first Tull show was around May of 1971 at the Swing auditorium in San Bernadino. We were BLOWN away. Absoulutely incredible. We saw them again around July of '71 in Oklahoma City. The opening band was a new English band, Yes. Eff-ing AMAZING! After Yes, we looked at each other and said "Tull is in trouble, having to follow that". It took Ian and company about 30 seconds to make us forget all about the opening act. Ian, in his torn up coat, moccasins and standing on his left leg, tapping his right foot on his left knee, staring down at the folks in the audience with his demon-like look, still makes my hair stand on end! I still love seeing him, never seen a bad show. Ian and Sir Martin Barre, Keep on ROCKIN!

OUTSTANDING...an old coot here....I guess I started with the "Minstrel" tour in 75 or 76 at the San Diego colleseum.Rory Ghalleger/ten years after opened up....fantastic!!! but it was really between warchild and minstrel I think as the striped zebra was prancing Sh*&tt*ng stripped zebra dung(LOL)...What a showman.Best in rock in my humble opinion.Without bragging would enjoy the pleasure of "Songs from the wood"tour(L.A.),Stormwatch,Heavy horses,A,Broadsword(L.A),Rock Island(Phoenix,Az) and Crest of a nave back in Los Angeles. Not nessessarrlyly in that order....Priemier musician, master of not a few instruments and preformer !!!!!

While I've never cared much for the 'Wraps era' music, this is an excellent show!

Yikes, these 80s Tull songs are Horrid. I love the 68-75 period, but that is all, sorry. Seeing them on August 8 - should be fun if they avoid this repertoire. Got any 70s shows?
