Concert Summary

This final performance of the original Jefferson Airplane is not only a great show, but is the only known Airplane concert to include so much material from their last two albums, Bark and Long John Sliver. Additionally, the group performs rare material from Papa John Creach's early solo albums, as well as a track from Grace and Paul's first album, Sunfighter.

At this point in time, there were two distinct creative factions operating within…entire summary

Yes, I went to the '72 William & Mary show, having just returned from the Peachtree Fest in North Carolina. Sorry I don't know of any recordings. I'd love to have it myself.

Bill Graham always introduced local bands that way cipfan37.....just in case there were some "tourists" at the show!

    ;-0

it was just like a proud papa saying " these are my sons and daughters and aren't we so DAMN lucky they live HERE!"

btw..my first concert was the Mighty Airplane at Winterland.....

Truly the "Worlds Most Loved Ice Skating Rink." per salster420 11/8/09...my parents went to hockey games there before anybody went to concerts there!

OK, maybe its just me, but why would Bill Graham introduce the band as 'From San Francisco, Jefferson Airplane" if they were playing in San Francisco??? I hope there is no offense here but is there no chance this is actually the Chicago performance?

This was truly a great show, or at least the one I went to was. The dates were pushed back a week from Grace being sick and there was a bunch of confusion on the days. I seem to recall that the Friday show the week before was on Saturday and the Saturday tickets were for the Sunday show the next week.

I know, does it really matter? Truly a fun band in a great time....thanks

realfast, I was talking about the summary and it's references to when albums and singles were released; the summary has been corrected since I posted that comment.

p.s. the concert summary says it all. this show is a gem and was finally put out on cd. it is a collectors item for those who really loved the later stuff particularly long john silver. aerie is my favorite slick song. and i'm not sure if it would be called scat singing but the way grace stretches out her musical lines on wooden ships is unique and i think quite beautiful. -tetodijuneau
