It sounds like the Big-Wigs de-amped them a little, doesn't it?. Good tight work here, putting their best foot forward when the guys writing the checks were around. Nice. You're right, the vocals are very noncompetetive-Marty Balin's great weakness.

Bill taped every note they played, man.... The break in Somebody to Love is spine chilling, Thanks Grace! Now where's my DCBA-25 Too many days are left unstoned.

One of the best JA performances, soundwise. Too short unfortunately; hope you find the rest of the concerts someday and let us enjoy them.

Go To Her is the best tune here. Nice and smooth, like a good wine. www.BrucesMidEastSoundbites.Blogspot.com

Nice, fresh recording...they sound like they are NOT stoned: the creativity is more pronounced. i don't hear the vocal competiveness that Kharmadreep hears. He's not screaming he's crooning. Marty's voice is wonderful and instrumental.

I like this a great deal. All too often I hear the vocals competing for the spotlight and it bugs me...don't get me wrong...I'm have been and still am a huge JA fan and Hot Tuna alike. This recording has surprisingly clean...not overwhelming vocals. I think Marty is most guilty of shouting in the mic...he has such a good voice if only he didn't compete so damn much. Anyways...love this recording.

Skip Spence was the founder of Moby Garpe and was known in some quarters as "The Human Testing Lab" .

I dig it. Too bad this is all that's left though. What kind of jerk loses airplane recordings?!?!
