The music of Jefferson Airplane, which had strongly reflected the peace and love ethic of the 1960s counterculture, was now reflecting this turbulent political climate. The group was also experiencing internal changes, splitting into factions and beginning to pursue outside projects. Saddled with tuning issues and a poor band mix this concert clearly demos a great band in evolution; singers finding their groove and musicians learning how to play with each other and back the singers. The aggressive drumming somehow fits the engergy of the rest of group....I saw them many times during this period....always exciting and totally unpredictable....

I saw this tour in LA with Hot Tuna & It's A Beautiful Day and it was a great show. Grace was dressed in a sparkling long dress & "Volunteers" & "Have You Seen The Saucers" sounded amazing. "3/5ths Of A Mile in 10 Seconds is a bit sleepy. I'd rather listen to the version on "Bless It's Pointed Little Head."

Always nice to get new Airplane released...Covington's a bit overpowering, but it sounds like a high-energy show
