Concert Summary

The three-day run at Fillmore Auditorium toward the end of November 1966 is one of the most fascinating collections of early live Jefferson Airplane recordings for a number of reasons. The five shows that occurred during this run, on a bill that also featured the James Cotton Blues Band and Moby Grape, capture Jefferson Airplane literally days after completing most of the sessions for their breakthrough album, Surrealistic Pillow.     Jack, party in the DVC parking lot before SVT gig, practicing speed skating with those weird elongated wooden roller skates. lovely night, Grace showed up, she was on her best behavior.

    for me this IS it.this is the S.F. sound i so fell in love with.makes me wnat to break out my moby grape and cj and the fish records.i have them all.love this!

    Running short on time at the moment so only listened to Somebody to Love and based on that i'd have to disagree about them sounding tight, at least on that song anyway, it sounds sloppy and hesitant to me.

    Yes, the master reels of this entire run of JA sets have recently been logged and transfered. More good things to come from this run so stick around! One of the yet to be posted sets even includes a live performance of "D.C.B.A.-25!" Needless to say, I think you'll enjoy it. And....Hey Rich, Hi back atcha! Alan

    This set list is not in the Airplane book "Circus Tent", so must be very recently located; so thanks and hello Alan B., from Rich in Plainfield NJ, It's been awhile ! And oddly the boot of 11/26/66 on Dandelion is in the book; but not available here. Happy Thanksgiving !

    hearing this show once again sent mr scurrying through my tape archives to locate the entire show.I lostened to "fat angel','and i like it',3/5 of a mile',the other side of this life'and several others that were culled from 11-25 to 11-27-66!!! Brad in Edison
