Concert Summary

After redefining electric guitar during his tenure in the Yardbirds, numerous outstanding permutations of the Jeff Beck Group and following a brief experiment with ex-Vanilla Fudge/Cactus alumni in Beck, Bogart & Appice, Jeff Beck disappeared from the public eye. When he returned in 1975 with his new album, Blow By Blow, it was immediately apparent that Beck was…entire summary

I was walking down the street in Hong Kong when I heard Blow By Blow coming out of a record store.I knew who it was right away.Beck get's better and better. He's like James Burton in rockabilly land.He covers the whole guital like it's the girl he loves.Still really really liked when he had uncle Rod singing and semi-playing guitar back in late 60s. Those shows at Fillmore West made all the girls crazy with Rod and his hair and Jeff making sounds no one had ever heard before

I agree with "avid", how about some new Jeff Beck shows? Both Jeff Beck Groups played Bill Graham venues nearly everytime they toured America; something like 20 different gigs. How about one of those shows? Heck, Beck even played the Fillmore with the Yardbirds. That would be amazing to hear.

I bought both of the 1975 downloads, give me something else to buy! Thanks!

okay, wolfgang, thanks for these Beck shows, but now it's time for some new Beck stuff, don't ya agree. What about the Beck group, that featured Tench and Powell. There is a great show they did in Finland, 1972. It was awesome. "New ways/ Train Train" and "Jody" were killer, from that festival. Jeff always liked to improvise alot more, when he played live. He would add just enough subtle nuances during his live shows, that would give ordinary songs, a steroid injection. In his early days, Jeff really tried hard to put out some songs that had alot of listening appeal and deepness. I always loved his style of playing, from the first time I heard it. Not all his old stuff was good though, but for me, Beck's latest projects and albums, don't do much for me, at all. Especially this crap he is currently doing with, Amelda May. I guess the days with Stewart and the new Beck group, will be the only stuff he did, that sounds good to my ears.I wish wolfgang would dig up all those shows. I hear that there is a show of the first beck group, in Miami, that is really nice.I've listened to all the supposed big time guitarists, on you tube, and on this site too, but none of them really can compare to Jeff's talent for making songs that absorb into your soul. All I can say is, that I'm happy he's in the RHOF, because now, he is no longer that underappreciated, underated, obscure, aloof person anymore. He did it, his way. Hey, Jeff, if you're reading this, do you think it would be possible to team up again with max middleton, tench, and chaman, and do a multi - city tour, here, in the states?? That is just about the only show I would pay to see, these days. Jeff Beck Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Fantastic performance! The performances are better than Beck's official live releases. But then again, Beck is always simply terrific...love Bernard Purdie's smooth, slinky-ass grooves...he really makes this stuff move!

power was about 15 minutes too short! Beck played with JM on the Modern Jazz Quartet's classic "DJango" on a JM record called "the Promise"(I think) Finding tracks these guys did together is like finding all the Beck/Page studio stuff...difficult and worth it!
