Concert Summary

Fans of James Taylor will love this early, totally unplugged concert from America's leading acoustic singer/songwriter. Recorded in the arts-friendly community of Berkeley, CA, at the dawn of his career in 1970, this show is pure, unedited JT with no gimmicks or other musicians to muddy the presentation. Recorded while Taylor was promoting his first Warner Brothers album, Sweet Baby James, shortly after jumping from his debut album deal with The Beatles' Apple Records,…entire summary

This is a great show and the recording is real good too. However, the first 50 seconds of Something In The Way She Moves is muffled on both the streaming source and download. Still worth a download though.

Nice. Maybe he's been revisiting this for the last 40 years, but it's a good place to revisit. . . . Yes, I know he's done other work, but those chords and chord changes. Done. In 1970. And his vocal inflections! Wow. This is why he won that freaking award from the president.

Simply unbelievable concert. James Taylor anytime is great, he is unreal here, such an artist, well my all-time favorite. Raw Vintage JT, the way I like him, such a lesson for we novices. Natural, gifted performer, one-of-a-kind, like no other, we still try to be a little like you, at least, JT. Thanks for all these great years of REAL music, honest. This one is early stuff that I LOVE!!!!!!!!!

Because my future wife and I went to a James Taylor concert at Pine Knob in Michigan and met a Tshirt bootlegger following James across the country I found the art we would practice for the rest of our lives. James Taylor changed our life to the better. Much Better! Thank you James you have no idea how much good you have done with your music.

simplistic, a natural born fool can follow his music, but it's the most complex music, with switches, flips and lyrics that follow the heart. He is a Genius!
