Concert Summary

Following iconic blues guitarist Albert King and proceeding Edgar Winter's White Trash in their prime was certainly no easy task, but this set finds the J. Geils Band quite capable of rising to the occasion. According to Bill Graham's autobiography, this group was among his favorite bands ever presented at Fillmore East and this set captures them performing at a raging ferocity level few bands could match.

The adrenalin level is obvious from the opening "Sno-Cone" and remains hot and volatile through the entire set. After continuing with the original number "Wait," the band tears up…entire summary

11/13 @ 1:29 Was that at that baseball stadium where I saw the Dead in 77 or so? Brick, good choices but Europe '72 is on my list of live albums.

bricktour...the dude in the audience that shouts out WHIPPING POST is a friend of mine...big freakin dude, no wonder his voice carried over so loudly (!;) such great days, esp when one is only about 15 at the time. My only loss was that I never saw ginger baker & clapton...dammint but lots of concerts at Jersey City were free if ya didn't pay for a ticket, we'd just hang out outside...wonderful days, the cops would swoop down and we just climbed the trees for a better view === wonderfall days they was...amazing no body got kilt.

Saw so many shows in and around The City. One great time was watching the show @ CW Post with Peters mother.

I remember when they would play high schools supporting the FUll House & Monkey island releases in their home state of ma-caught their final show of the centre fold tour in boston gahden & it still remains one of the greatest live shows ive witnessed out of close to a thousand. This captures them in their prime-one of americas great touring acts and true purveyors of the blues long before it became fashionable to be a blues afficianado (are you listening John Mayer?) or record a blues album when all other career options were exhausted (right,Robin Trower?)

Saw this band in at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in the UK in the mid 1970's. The venue probably held approximately 600 and no chairs, needless to say they just blew the place to pieces one of the very bands that I ever had the pleasure of seeing.

I saw the band many times in Chicago,Riviera,Soldiers Field, Aragon Ballroom is where I have the best memory from. The Aragon is a general admission place kinda like no seating just fight your way to the front. One night they were playing there and me and my friend went to the front and center of the stage. they had barricades set up in front like a vip section with seats about six rows worth. Well ofcourse me and my friend got past the bouncers under the barricades and front row baby!It happened to be Seth Justmans Birthday and they had a big cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. Then Peter Wolf comes dancing out to the front of the stage carring about 4 bottles of champagne and hands one right to me!Needless to say I started chugging it down all the while people where trying to take it from me so I just let go. What a concert I will never forget! The Best live band ever!
