Concert Summary

It must have been great to be a rock fan living in England in the late 1960s. London was swinging, and the British blues-rock scene was veritably exploding, thanks to the more sophisticated of the British invasion bands (most notably the Stones and the Yardbirds), who had first gotten the scene on its feet by incorporating a distinct blues element into their own respective pop music. Soon after, Cream, Free, Savoy Brown and the mighty …entire summary

Wolfgang!...i offer you a thousand thank-you's for posting up this concert. I used to work on the stage lighting crew at Fillmore East from Sept. 1970(right after my job up at "Woodstock" where i did the same thing plus much more) and i saw/heard Humble Pie first hand at F.East. So....just sayin' thanks to you for what you do...and keeping my priceless memories fresh. Rock on my brother...keep moving forward....and NEVER give up in the face of corporate-American adversity which seriously impacts all of us....
    Rock on...
    Peace....

    Eddie

I liked all the guitar Frampton did on the 1971 live LP, and I'm real sorry Wolfgang hasn't got any audio of Pie with Peter. (The "related" audio concerts so helpfully listed on this webpage are all related to this Humble Pie only by the prior history together, not by anything you can hear in any of these concerts. In-laws, really, not blood relatives.)
I guess sometimes you can't resurrect history ...

We saw this line-up in Madison Wi about this time. A great show. It was one of my favorites. Hearing this again nearly 40 years later blows my mind.

This is awesome! One of the greatest rock concerts of all time. Marriott on top form and the band on top form. I bought Rocking The Fillmore 20 years back and have always loved it. Unbelievably great!
