Concert Summary

Paul Kantner opens this show with an interesting observation: "Ah, the late show here. It used to be the young kids would always come to the late show to get home in time for curfew and the old folks would stay for the late show. Now all the old folks come to the early show and the young kids stay late…" The year was 1988, and for the San Francisco music scene, it seemed everything that goes around, comes around again.

    i often find myself listening intently with eyes closed and my drum beaters in my hands,staying up with the guitar riffs! Quite a workout, especially with native drums.Would be nice if folks would pour into like they used too.Peace

    oh those were the days!! Papa John played with Hot Tuna and with Jefferson Starship for many years after the Airplane split. i got to meet them all in the small venues... my only regret is, when Papa John was with Hot Tuna? they never played Wild Turkey at any of the shows i attended.

    AWESME THIS SHWS WHO THE REAL STARS OF THE JA WERE-- REMEMBER AS A LIVE BAND THERE WERE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS HAPPENING THERE WAS THE BLISTERING ACID/HEAVY METAL WHICH WAS DOMINANT AND THEN THERE WERE THE VCALISTS WHO WERE REDUCED TO SCREAMING B/C JACK AND JORMA NEVER STOPPED BUT THEY WERE THE REASON THE JA LIVE WERE NO 1 IN FRISCO

    they would play at stony brook, LI,ny for literally 4 hours , as loud as you could have imagined. will never forget those great show............

    Same note as the other set from this date: Paul didn't sit in on a few songs, he plays rhythm guitar on every song.
