It used to be the young kids would always come to the late show to get home in time for curfew and the old folks would stay for the late show. Now all the old folks come to the early show and the young kids stay late…" The year was 1988, and for the San Francisco music scene, it seemed everything that goes around, comes around again.

The legendary Fillmore Auditorium was back in business, and playing on stage was the famed acoustic duo of Kaukonen and bassist …entire summary

Same note as the other set from this date: Paul didn't sit in on a few songs, he plays rhythm guitar on every song.

Wow, I have seen Tuna so many times, but this is the show i wish I could have seen. The best!

Huh? There's no connection when the Airplane members play together but Hot Tuna shines? Paul plays on every track here! Also he had been playing with Hot Tuna for a couple of months.

This is a really uneven show. Martha is a major disappointment, as is Volunteers. It's obvious that the former JA bandmates haven't played together in a long time. There's no connection. Hot Tuna, in contrast, shines.

Great show indeed, though whoever wrote the summary clearly does not know the band. That was Kantner with the opening remarks. not Jorma, though he can be heard chuckling in the background. If you like this show, look around for Jorma and Jack shows later that summer featuring PJ and Kantner, w/ Bromberg sitting in. Fun times.

If I'm correct, didn't this lead to the brief reformation of the Airplane. I saw that gig in Costa Nesa and was interesting, with Jorma literally skipping off stage to avoid playing Lather and to my eyes faked another tune of Marty's... the memories are blurry... strong doses

I also was at this show and it was f'ing magical. It brought back memories from 20 years before seeing the Airplane in all their glory. Back in the day the Airplane ruled [and always will in my mind]. The appearence of Paul and Grace together for the 1st time in years lead to the Airplane reuniting for a '89 tour. There's nobody better than Jack & Jorma unless it was the JA.

I saw Jack and Jorma on Friday. They have been playing music for 50 years together. They still have it!! This show is so fun!!

I was at this show! When Grace came out we had the ACOUSTICE Jefferson Airplane on stage! Unbelievable for a then-younger guy who'd never seen Jorma, Jack, Paul, Papa John and Grace together!
