the 2 unknowns appear to be "Embraceable You", a Gershwin song, and a riff on Donovan's "First there is a Mountain".

What a beautiful concert. Lovely music and a super guitarist as well.

Hmmm, no notes! Well I was there and can provide some background on this era and band. I first heard Herbie and his band at the infamous VIllage Gate on Bleeker St in Greenwich Village, where he seemed to be the house band for the huge basement venue. It was there I met Herbie, who was the completely the essence of cool. He could talk to the audience for 2-10 mins in such a self assured way about all walks of life. Herbie Mann was known as one of a few premier training grounds for young accomplished musicians. Mainstay drummer Leroy Clouden who was a positive and memorable influence on me, was a great person and astounding drummer who went on to play with everyone including Steely Dan Live band. The ever- generous Bill Cope, manager to Herbie and Patrica Rushen, bassist and sometimes boxer, Jeff Berlin, Ricardo Silveria, an astounding guitar player, nice guy, w/ with the heaviest amp i ever lifted. (A 77 black mesa boogie.)
