Concert Summary

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1949, Hank Williams Jr. always had to live up to the enormous musical legacy of his late, great father, Hank Williams Sr. Although Hank Jr. was only six years old when his hard-drinking, road-warrioring father drank himself to death on New Years Eve 1953, he was around him long enough, during those early, formative years, to absorb and internalize the musical talent to carry on what his father had started, once he came of age.

Hank Sr.'s widow, Audrey, noticed her son's musical…entire summary

Bocephus on the guitar no drums no no the bass guitar WTF now the piano! What an entertainer! What instrument doesn't he play? Sings Gospel, Country, Rock. Probably the best damn Blues singer I've heard in a live performance. I'm a gonna crank it up to about level 81! So the neighbors can hear it 2!

I am from southcarolina and i am a huge Hank fan. I have all of his tapes from when i was a kid listening to him. Like the other guy who posted the comments about his parents didnt like him listening to Hank, my parents was the same way. I used to lie to my parents and tell them i was going and doing something else, and then i would sneak off to see him in concerts. Anyway, thanks for the memories.

this is a shining example i have found on this website of artists reaching a certain pinnacle in there careers and performance quality. Not that the other shows listed here are bad but there is something very special about this show in my opinion. Top notch job by bocephus and there is almost a mezmerizing quality to the way he reels u in with the stories in between the songs.. just amazing stuff. very thankful there is a website that keeps things like this alive. Im sure i would have never heard this concert if it wasnt for that, and i am also a singer/songwriter I feel this concert has impacted that and the way i look at writing in general again many thx to the fine folks at wolfgangs vault

Huntsville is my home town. I was just a kid in 86' but I was a huge bocephus fan even though my dad was a baptist preacher and didn't like Hank senior or Junior at all. His talent is UNDENIABLE!! Bocephus is THE KING of Southern Country Rock and Roll (period). Whether Hank Jr. sang in key or not becomes irrelevent... when you can evoke that much ENERGY in a live performance. There's not many artist in the History of music who can do what Hank Jr. did in this concert. He makes me proud to be from ALABAMA. PS. I'm a musician now (guitar/singer/songwriter) and I sing Bocephus songs whenever I get a chance (and now days ..my father loves to hear me sing'em) Funny how things change... Thanks Hank..
