Concert Summary

This recording captures the Dead at the time when they featured two keyboard players - ex-Tubes member Vince Welnick, and also Bruce Hornsby, who played keyboards and sometimes accordion with the Dead quite a bit throughout the '90s.

It's a configuration of the band that produced really interesting, and many times truly exhilirating versions of well-known Dead songs. I was on Europe tour. It was magical, Hornsby was fucking amazing, saved my ASS with that band. The playing in the band this evening stopped time in the middle, they lost the tempo, then the melody, then they just turned into mist.... very similar to the playing in the band from laguna seca that you can hear on 'so many roads'... lots of Europeans with their jaws dropping, had to be there.

i was in a coachload of Brits, having been in a camper-van load of Brits to see the German shows. This Paris show is a great example of why following the Dead was the most spiritual musical experience you could get.
