Attended the best concert I ever saw that night. Bought our $5 tickets at 6 PM and went to the back of the line that started at the box office and traversed the entire circular city block, of course on buying our tickets we immediatly dropped, not knowing that it would be 8PM before we got in. So,we were flying pretty high when we got in. Seeing Stoneground on the stage was surreal, here's Jack Cassidy on stage (a little man in stature, to say the least) playing the largest balilanka I'd every seen in my life still brings me to laughter. But, the music was phenomenal. Followed by a great New Riders set then Hot Tuna (surprisingly electrified) prompted us to drop again at 10:30. The Dead coming out at Midnight playing Sugar Magnolia with an overweight bearded man dressed as "The Baby New Year" being lowered from the rafters was the best. The show went on until 5AM. The best $10 I ever spent in my life. By the way that price included the 2 hits of Owsley acid.

I was home on leave and watched/listened to this on a simulcast broadcast. PBS and some FM station. Was in a hotel room in Alameda with Patty. Excellent time.
