Concert Summary

Throughout their monumental career, the Grateful Dead established a tradition of ringing in the New Year by performing in San Francisco, with only one exception. The 1969/70 New Year concerts were on the East coast, with New Year's eve at Boston's famed Tea Party venue, followed by a run of four shows at the Fillmore East on January 2 and 3, 1970, with Cold Blood and Lighthouse.

It's possible this was the night that Mickey Hart joined The Dead, apparently one night Kreutzmann asked for him to sit in on Alligator with the band.

As it has been said over and over,....the Grateful Dead are not the best at what they did, they are the ONLY Ones who did what they did!! Its about SOOO much more than sound quality!

I don't know about you, but when such a fantastic band as the Grateful Dead plays such great songs as these in such incredible renditions I just can't even notice any deffect. For me the sound quality is perfect, not for the mix, but for the band and the moment.
