The Omnipotent Grateful Dead--at The Fillmore East--in the early Nineteen Hundred and Seventies--i guess you would have HAD TO HAVE BEEN THERE to truly understand the SIGNIFICANCE of the shows that were played there!!! Of course, me being from Flushing NY, home of the NY Mets and Jets, were just a subway ride away from the Village, and consequently, the Theater too!!! Also, having to had tickets for the LATE SHOW on this same date, well, all that can be said, IS THE REST IS HISTORY!!! There was a good reason that Bill Graham started having the Dead play ALL BY THEMSELVES--no early and late show that had been done for all the other concerts before that. Of course, it included The New Riders of the Purple Sage and an acoustic set--with jerry playing in all of the sets performed!! UNPRECEDENTED IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!

it's my heartfelt belief that both Jerry and Robert were Oracles.
