Thanks WV. Saw this tour at the famous El Mocambo in Toronto. They blew the circuit breaker (fuses in those days) in the middle of Stick To Me. The power was restored - and went out again a song later. You could see Parker getting frustrated, but his anger only raised the intensity of the show. The ElMo audience support pushed them over the top. Great show commemorating a great LP.

Listening to this show on the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1979 was my first ever encounter with the high-octane talent of Graham Parker. Among all of his recordings with The Rumor--I think this is still my personal favorite.

Martin's guitar is way too low in the mix. He carried the heavy load while Brins played the riffs. And Martin's guitar usually played the heavier, lower end. Doesn't sound like Bodnar's bass is much up in the mix either.

I was at this show...until about Protection. I was a kid and didn't realize that his set would start so late. We had to take public transportation that didn't run as it does now. Now $ to take a cab home and had to work early.

I got to see them later when they played Berkeley on the same tour. Amazing.

I worked at the Old Waldorf at this time and became a huge GP fan. What a great singer, song writer!
