Concert Summary

Genesis fans will love this brilliant recording of the band, made at the famed Spectrum in Philadelphia. At the time, the Spectrum was one of the leading venues in the U.S. and Philly had never been crazier about Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, and Phil Collins, the core line-up of Genesis. The band, along with long-time live performance cohorts drummer Chester Thompson and guitarist Daryl Stuermer, put on a lengthy and high-energy show for the lucky crowd.

Genesis was winding down its 1983/84 world tour, launched to promote the album simply entitled Genesis, which had been…entire summary

My first Genesis show as well. This version of "Turn It On Again" is the B-side of the "Illegal Alien" 12-inch.

I remember this concert so well...(ok maybe not THAT well...lol...1st time seeing Genesis. Remember it was Daryl's B-day mentioned during Turn it on again.

I was at this concert and it it was one of the best Genesis shows I have seen. I was lucky to be able to catch a lot of acts at the spectrum. It will be missed

Wow! Awesome. My only regret from the tour itself as I recall (and as is reconfirmed in this recording) was that Tony Banks was not using keyboards at the time that created that full-throated choir sound he got on other tours with songs like Cinema Show and Afterglow. As for the recording, it's a shame that the other old stuff they played on on this tour (the 11th Earl/Squonk/Firth of Fifth Medley, and Carpet Crawlers) were not included in the radio broadcast. Rats!
