Interview Summary

Genesis was at its commercial peak when this show was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1986. It was the first of three nights recorded at the LA Forum (and the second night of a five-night run there), and the setlist reads like the band's Greatest Hits album: "Mama," "Abacab," "Land Of Confusion," "That's All," "Follow You, Follow Me," "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight," "Home By The Sea," "Throwing It All Away," "Invisible Touch," and "Turn It On Again," which closes the lengthy show. The band even dips into its Peter Gabriel-era material, with stunning versions of "In The…entire summary

saw them at the soon to be departed philly Spectrum on this tour on the third night of a four night run. Overall, a phenomenal show--this was the peak for the Phil Collins era--this particular tour, no doubt.

this tour was the 1st time I saw them (Sept 22/86-Toronto) and listening to this brings back so many memories. Great version of "Throwing It All Away" - thanks for posting this concert!

Some of you have it all wrong. This show was used for the original KBFH as well as the one from the 15th of Oct. I do not know which tracks were used for what - you'll have to do your own homework there. I also do not know how many nights were recorded by the KBFH. Maybe all 5 of them?? There is dialogue on this recording where Phil Collins says the exact same into on the broadcast when introducing "In The Cage." In addition, the 10/15 show has the same dialogue on the KBFH recording you didn't hear from the 10/14 night (the introduction to the audience before "Land Of Confusion.")

Okay I was mistaken, it was 5 nights, and thats why Phil says in his first words to the audience (track #3 interlude) "that we arrived yesterday and we had a good time last night, but were going to have a great time tonight" referring to the first nights show and this recording being the second night. And I also recall him mentioning on the first night while introducing the band if my memory serves me well, when he introduces mike r. he mentions something like the show started late because mike had flown across the atlantic do to his fathers passing and thanks mike for his sacrifices to be there that night? something to that effect, So this recording definetly appears to be the second night.
