I was the Stage Manager for this show. Skaggs Telecommunications Service (check spelling on the venue) teamed with a group of producers from L.A. to create a series of Nostalgia Concerts. Yes, this music was already nostalgic in 1983... The show was videotaped in a 60' X 70' sound stage with a very small audience and recorded live to 24 track. For this series we shot Gary Puckett, The Turtles, The Association and The Mama's and the Papa's (Spanky McFarlane singing for Cass Elliot and McKenzie Phillips singing for her Mom). It was a good time!

Perhaps he was recovering from a stroke.

Sure it's Gary Puckett singing but there's NO Horns. It was like listening to Tower of Power or BS&T without a horn section. No Horns equals lame:)

he was trying to be to clever with timing of the lyrics.Herky jerky instead of smooth.Sometimes the band was a line ahead or behind him.Sounds like he was really into himself instead of interacting with the band.Good to hear the songs again though

For the nostalgics,These were the times that when you would go see a live concert, you would go see the real stuff! not a bunch of computers aligned on the stage! that was the real stuff! Gary Puckett and The Union Gap, Totally incredible! Thank you so much wolfgang's Vault!
