Concert Summary

This show came three years after Foreigner would have its initial success with songs like "Long Long Way From Home," "Feels Like The First Time," and "Cold As Ice." The band had become one of the biggest international rock acts, and at a time when disco had taken over the music industry, was proving that there still was a massive market for a great rock 'n' roll band with memorable songs.

After multi-platinum success with their debut LP and its sophomore follow up, Double Vision, the band returned in 1979 with Headentire summary

Saw this show at Veteran's Memorial in New Haven CT. I still have the stub but the date is missing - I think mid November. Anyone know the date?! Man, was it LOUD. I recall being about 15th row, my ears were still ringing until 2pm the next day. Great concert, very memorable even 30 years later!

Yes great concert. I heard it live on the radio when it was originally broadcast. And yes there is at least one song missing. Maybe someday someone will add it.

Yes, A great show. There are songs missing and that sucks. Fool for you anyway and Modern day come to mind as I have the whole show. They need to make this available!

Dennis Elliott was a very underrated drummer. That's because in the studio he kept it close to the vest... I suppose to please the studio execs who wanted to make their top 40 hits and thus the big $ ... but the dude would absolutely wail in concert! Good stuff.

Just to clarify...the concert description is in error. This Atlanta performance was originally a national simulcast. A damn good one at that, too! And it definitely was a gig that was done on the "Head Games" Tour. Bassist Rick Wills is featured; Foreigner's first bass player, Ed Gagliardi, had departed the scene by this point. Sadly, this recording is not the complete set since "The Modern Day" (a classic composition & vocal by Mick Jones) is missing, as well as another track or two. Perhaps one day those puppies will surface and we'll all be the better for it....

Classic show for a classic album, I've always wanted to hear the 'Head Games' tour, wish Mick would've just stuck with the great guitar solo's and leave the keyboards alone after the '4'album, any later stuff from mid 80's, Lou was one of the best rock singers out there.

Good sound on this one. I saw them around this time at Rose Arena, Central Michigan University. It was my senior year in high school, it was LOUD in a very small arena -- a truly thrilling concert! Great performance, sound, light. I played the Double Vision album to death and replaced it with the cd as soon as it came out. Great stuff!
