It sust have been 1979 or so...A friend owned a Record store in Needles, CA I ordered a couple records and when they came in, his wife asked him, "Who the hell would order Merle Haggard and Elvis Costello?" Must be Reg, was the answer. From the time I heard This Year's Model I thought Elvis Costello was the next big thing. I guess I was right, he's still around and still making great music with the original Attractions. Now if Slaid Cleaves would just catch on, I'd be batting 1000

I know a guy named Bob Wieder went to this show!! Mark Klotzbach probably went too! I didn't like Elvis Costello then but I do now! Merriweather was my back yard for about 10 years. These were the good ole days, eh Bob?

Brings back good memories of seeing him on tour in Berkeley at the Greek. Goodbye Cruel World is a really badly produced album, but still has some great Costello tunes that are better played live here. Thanks for posting this!
