Concert Summary

This is an important concert because it reunites Elton John with arguably the best band he ever worked with: Davey Johnstone on guitar; Dee Murray on bass and vocals; and Nigel Olsson on drums and vocals. Could not believe I found this here! I was THERE that night in Saratoga, one of the first few concerts I had ever attended, and still to this day possibly the most amazing experience of my life! This version of Rocket Man blew me away. I remember huge letters above Elton spelling out ROCKET MAN, each lighting separately in blue to the music as he sang it. Goosebumps hearing this again! Thank you! Any way to purchase this?

Thank you for your site ten times over..I was at the thanksgiving show in 74 at msg when John Lennon appeared to my amazement . At that time I was 18 and that was only the second concert I had ever been to . The other having been the Brain salad surgery tour in Quadrophonic sound by ELP. Probably the two concert highlights of my life. As far as I know, there are no publicly available recordings available of that one other than the 45 with " What ever gets you through the night " & " Since I saw her standing there " on the reverse side. This is as close as it gets. That night the bar of stage lights that hung across the stage was swinging up and down by at least two feet with the beat of the music from the crowd dancing along with " Saturday night is alright for fighting.

I love the difference between the 1986 show and 1988 show. 1988 is my favorite! the 1988-1990 material in my eyes is elton at his (musical) best.
