the older i get the more i appreciate this guy. i just finished listening to led zepplin. it was a great thing to listen to. now i'm over to sir elton and wow, what a great thing to listen to. i don't think i would have admitted that twenty years ago. i have always been open to good music, but as i get older i'm even more open to it. i can even listen to hip-hop and enjoy it. my first concert was in 1967, the doors. that might give you an idea of my age. i just love music. thank god for all the great stuff that is out there. if you are a musician (young or old) keep it coming. someone is listening. (now if i could just convince myself to take my advise). peace, jim

Captures one of the greatest live performers ever. We saw Elton on this tour at the Hollywood Bowl. It was the first time he had gotten out from behind a grand piano on the left side of the stage and simply used a small electric piano front & center. "Danny Bailey" & "I don't wanna go on with you like that" were my favorites from the show.

I called my parents upon hearing this gig as they were present - Hoffman Estates a 30 minute drive from my home in Northbrook. As befitting this era - it focused on material from his recent orchestral live album from Aussie and the studio recording 'Reg Strikes Back' "Tiny Dancer" sounded flat and "Marlon Brando" was silly. "Have Mercy," and "Burn" were the hi-lites for me as hearing 'Danny Bailey' live for the first time. I really recommend all going to youtube and hearing the live version of "I'm Still standing" from Wmbley in '84/'85 - it's so euphoric and gleeful - brings me up when I'm '2 Low for Zero.'
