Concert Summary

Echo and the Bunnymen is one of the more interesting and innovative pop bands to emerge from the MTV-era British pop scene that also gave us the Cure, the Fixx, and XTC. This show, recorded at the Channel in Boston, was originally recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour. It features the best material from the band's early LPs, including "Going Up," "Heads Will Roll," "The Killing Moon," "Never Stop," "Thorn of Crowns," "Over The Wall," "The Cutter," and "Do It Clean." Among the highlights is a version of "Crocodiles" (their first U.K. hit), which morphs into the Doors' classic "Light My…entire summary

I saw this tour, but at The Savoy in NYC with Let's Active as the opener. Great show.

Is this concert live or Memorex ? These versions sound even better than the recorded versions. However, can't believe that they are still eeking out a livin'.

I was 14 and this was the first concert I ever went to. I still even have the ticket, from Newbury Comics for $8.50! The club was dark, the music was loud, the mosh pit was active, and I was enveloped by all that was happening around me. It was quite the experience! I remember going to the bathroom and seeing a girl piercing her cheek with a large paper clip. Exciting!!

Ah EATB. I saw them in Portland, OR in 83 or 84. Sent me back to my teens. (Yeah, I'm old.) Incredible band. (Now I drink to get my hallucinations on.)

I was in college when these guys were popular. They remind me of the best in late 70's college radio. Just love um. Ian says "Thank you" just like robert smith does. Who was first?

I was at this evening show at the Channel, great performance. I had to think long about who opened for them-- was it Let's Active and another local group, like the Neats or The Neighborhoods?? Well, any way, the Bunnymen were mindbending, powerful, and I was in awe of the guitar sound. It was loud in there.
