Description

Who could forget this gig, the night The Who briefly became "The Who's That?" when a volunteer drummer scaled the stage to take over on drums for an incapacitated Keith Moon? Pete Townsend, more infuriated by the disastrous start than solicitous of the hospital-bound Moon, called for volunteers from the audience, and 19 year-old Scott Halpin from Muscadine, Iowa got a quick lesson from Moon's roadie on the biggest drum set he'd ever seen and finished the set. Moon, who'd unwittingly ingested an animal tranquilizer in pre-performance partying, was later revived and played with the band for five more years until an accidental drug overdose killed him in 1978. Halpin, astounded by his luck at the time, now prefers anonymity to fame and doesn't talk much about that night.

This shirt features an elaborate original design, probably airbrushed on the fabric, with multiple symbolic references. The application method has created subtle differences between the two, rare examples we show here.

Most of our Men's Vintage t-shirts were created for and made at the time of a particular event or performance. They come in a variety of popular styles and sizes. Many of our vintage t-shirts are short-sleeved crew necks, always a comfortable favorite, but we have baseball, v-neck, long-sleeved, tank top, soccer and polo-style shirts, too. Some of these alternative styles come from very short production runs and are quite unique. Get yours while they're still available! Vintage apparel tends to be smaller in size (1 to 2 sizes smaller) than apparel produced today.
