Poster Art Q & A

Description

With their appearance here, the popular pop-rock Turtles became one of the few non-San Francisco bands (they hailed from L.A.), to appear at an early Bill Graham concert. Heinrich Kley contributed the artwork to Wilson's design.

The pre-concert 1st printing of the poster shows union logo 72 in the lower left corner and measures 13 15/16" x 20".

The 2nd printing, produced in 1967, bears no union logo, but has the words "Printing by West Coast Lithograph Co. SF" in the lower left margin. It measures 13 7/8" x 19 3/4".

Wolfgang's Vault owns one of the world's largest collections of original concert posters, featuring hundreds of rock posters, political posters, sports posters, comedy posters and others that were previously unavailable to the general public. Virtually all of our concert posters are in mint condition, and many are signed by the headline performer or the graphic artist.
